Southern Italy, Sicily (including Mal di Ventre, San Pietro, San Antioco, Tavolara, Asinara and Maddalena), Aeolian Islands and Pontine islands. Introduced in Menorca, Bonifacio (Corsica), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Ile La Galite (Tunisia), Sardinia and Lampedusa (Italy), Nijmegen (The Netherlands), San Pedro (USA / California) and Türkiye (Marmara and Black Sea region).
